Information about ZEROINSIGHT website data, storage and contact handling.
Operator and contact
The operator is ZEROINSIGHT, established in the UK. For privacy questions, contact privacy@mail.zeroinsight.org. The mailbox is provided through Cloudflare Email Routing and is intended for privacy enquiries.
Data and purposes
Reading requests expose network metadata such as IP address, requested URL, time and browser headers to hosting/CDN infrastructure. The site uses device time and system display preference for appearance. Tool text stays in page memory unless you choose local saving. Contact emails contain your address, message and any attachments. These are separate processing purposes, not one consent to everything.
Theme cookie
Only after permission, zi_theme stores the theme, consent scope/version and expiry, not a user ID, card text, location or browsing history. Its fixed lifetime is 180 days; switching theme does not renew it. It is host-only, Path=/, SameSite=Lax and Secure on HTTPS; it is sent with same-origin requests. Rejecting saves no rejection identifier. Blocked cookies are not bypassed using other storage.
Cards, files and deletion
Local saving is a separate opt-in for each tool. zi-card:<tool> and zi-card-save:<tool> in localStorage have no automatic expiry. Turning saving off or clearing attempts to delete current and compatible legacy keys; failures are reported and cross-tab changes pause saving. Import reads your selected JSON locally; export and copy create additional files or clipboard copies. Clearing the page cannot erase those copies, browser backups, extensions or operating-system records. Avoid sensitive data on shared devices.
Withdrawal and location
Use footer privacy controls to withdraw theme permission; this does not delete separately saved cards. Use each tool’s save/clear controls for cards, or your browser’s site-data settings. Withdrawal does not undo earlier processing. Location is disabled in this edition (ENABLE_GEOLOCATION=0); normal reading and tools need no browser location permission. Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled for zeroinsight.org at the zone level, and Cloudflare may also process coarse IP-derived location, request logs and security events. The source contains no Google Analytics, Sentry, advertising, fingerprinting or automated decisions with legal or significant effects. The website is open to people of all ages and regions on the same informational basis.
Hosting and email recipients
Cloudflare serves the site and may process requests, security cookies and logs according to the features enabled for this domain. This is not a promise that no server processing occurs. Contact mail is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to the operator’s mailbox; the final destination address is not published. Please send only the information needed for your request.
Purposes and legal bases
This is an informational website and local browser tool, not a paid service, account platform or child-directed service. Core website operation and security protection rely on legitimate interests under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f). Privacy enquiries are handled to respond to the requester on the same basis. Optional theme storage is activated only after consent where required by PECR; local card saving is an optional browser feature chosen by the user. The site does not require card text or location to be provided.
Retention and international processing
The theme preference expires after 180 days; locally saved cards have no automatic expiry and remain under the browser user’s control. Cloudflare request, analytics and security records, privacy correspondence, backups and rights-request records are retained according to the applicable provider and operational policies. The UK region label does not mean data is processed only in the United Kingdom; actual processors and transfer safeguards follow their applicable terms.
Your rights and complaints
You can contact the operator at privacy@mail.zeroinsight.org to request applicable access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent. The operator will verify identity where appropriate and handle requests under applicable law. The site cannot retrieve cards stored only in your browser. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. The website is open to people of all ages and regions and provides general information and local browser tools.
