Some blind spots start with an unasked question.
Before accepting a conclusion, ask where the evidence is. Before making a decision, note what you do not know. These are the habits behind ZEROINSIGHT.
Put the questions on paper.
The notes start with everyday situations: what a record tells us, which conditions a sentence leaves out, and what could change a judgment. The cards give you space to record your own questions and evidence.
The name ZEROINSIGHT.
ZERO refers to blind spots; INSIGHT to understanding. Zero blind spots is a direction to work toward, not a state we claim to have reached.
Clarity
Give the question, its grounds, and its conclusion their own place.
Care
Distinguish facts, inferences, and what remains unknown.
Openness
Let new information change your understanding.
Start with a specific question.
Choose a note that fits something you are working on. Then use a Clarity Card to record the material you have, possible explanations and what to check next.
Notes can change.
Keep the source, the date and the reasons behind a judgment. When new records turn up, revisit the explanation. We use the same approach to edit this site.
Try it
Try a card with a question of your own.
Start with one record you can check, then write down what you still do not know.
